The Chichibu area has a small number of doctors, nurses, and other medical staff. Under such circumstances, the working environment for medical staff has become difficult, partly due to the response to the new type of coronavirus infection, but the medical system is being maintained through the efforts of all medical staff. In order to maintain the medical system in the Chichibu area where you can live with peace of mind in the future, we need your understanding and cooperation to receive appropriate medical examinations. Let's work together to protect the medical care in the Chichibu area!
During weekday daytime hours (regular clinic hours), we are able to provide medical services such as examinations, treatments, and prescriptions to patients with various conditions, so please visit us during these hours if possible!
All medical institutions that provide emergency medical services in the Chichibu area provide both regular medical services and emergency medical services. Please understand that there is a limit to the number of procedures and tests that can be performed by the limited medical staff. The Chichibu area has both initial and secondary emergency medical care systems in place, so please make an appropriate decision depending on your symptoms before visiting a doctor!
It is available for patients with relatively minor illnesses that can be treated only on an outpatient basis. On weekday nights, "Weekday Nighttime Pediatric Initial Emergency Care" is available, and on holidays, "Holiday Clinics" and "Medical Institutions on Duty at Home" of the Medical Association are available.
Patients requiring ambulance or hospitalization for sudden illness or serious injury are treated by 3 hospitals (Chichibu Municipal Hospital, Chichibu Hospital, Minano Hospital) on a rotating basis.。
Emergency telephone consultation in Saitama Prefecture is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sudden injury . You can consult with a doctor or nurse about what to do at home or whether you should see a doctor immediately when you feel unwell. Doctors, nurses, and other consultants are available to give advice, so please feel free to call us.

The Saitama emergency telephone consultation is not a medical service, but is intended to help you make a decision by providing advice over the phone. Please understand this before using the service.
A family doctor is a physician who is close to you and readily available for health consultations and initial treatment of illnesses. If you consult with them on a regular basis, they will be able to understand your daily health condition and will be able to make quick decisions more easily and refer you to the appropriate hospital more quickly when necessary. It also makes it easier to discuss not only illnesses but also vaccinations.
In case of fever, first call your family doctor or your local health care provider. A cold or flu may be indistinguishable from symptoms of a new type of coronavirus infection. To prevent infection, patients with fever may not be allowed inside medical institutions, so be sure to call before visiting a doctor.
Emergency medical care on holidays and at night is only for emergencies, and there are limits to the staff, tests, and procedures that can be performed. If you do not have a medical emergency, please see a doctor during regular office hours when the system is in place.
With the cooperation of medical associations, etc., there is a system of emergency care for children in the early hours of the night on weekdays and an emergency doctor on duty on weekends and holidays. If you have a sudden illness, please check with the doctor on duty and see if he/she is available. For details, please refer to "Emergency Doctor on Duty on Holidays" in the city newsletter and Chichibu City HP. We also have a childcare support application "Chichibukko", so please register it and make use of it.
It will be easier for the doctor to make a decision if someone who can explain the child's symptoms, diet, medications, etc. goes with the child. It is also recommended that you bring your Maternal and Child Health Handbook, health insurance card, consultation ticket, Child Medical Expense Certificate, and a note describing the symptoms and medications to ensure a smooth visit.
Take a medical checkup during the application period. Get points by participating in various health classes, etc. or undergoing various cancer screenings, etc.! If you collect the specified number of points, you can participate in the lottery (some prizes are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis).
Advance registration is required.
We will support your health promotion by offering health classes on lifestyle disease prevention and other topics!

The heart maintains a steady rhythm and moves regularly to pump blood throughout the body. However, when the rhythm of the blood is disrupted by heart cramps or other problems, and the blood stops circulating, the body is in a very dangerous state. In such cases, the heart rhythm must be restored to normal by administering an electric shock to the heart.
An AED (automated external defibrillator) is a miniaturized version of the electroshock machine used by doctors in hospitals and other institutions, and can be used by anyone.
The city has installed AEDs in public facilities such as city halls and schools where many people gather. AEDs are also installed in private facilities such as businesses and stores.
AED installation status in Saitama Prefecture can be searched on a map from the Saitama AED search site "Machi no Johokan".
When the AED is turned on, an automatic voice will instruct you on all operations, so follow the instructions as you use it. Also, wait for the arrival of an ambulance while performing cardiac massage.
Although the AED and cardiac massage may not always save a life, some lives may be saved by the use of the AED.
If you encounter a situation that requires medical attention, please have the courage to help.
Although the AED is designed for anyone to use, training sessions are held at the Chichibu Fire Station and the Municipal Hospital to ensure more reliable use. Please contact us if you wish to attend a training session.

Long-term care insurance is a system under which everyone over the age of 40 becomes an insured person (subscriber), pays premiums, and can use services when they need long-term care.
*How Long-Term Care Insurance Works
Services are available when a person is certified as needing long-term care regardless of the cause (upon turning 65, the city issues a certificate of long-term care insurance coverage).
Services are available when a person is certified as needing nursing care due to a disease that is considered to be caused by aging (specified disease).
In order to use long-term care insurance services, a person must be certified that he/she is in need of long-term care.
The individual, family member, or other person applies for this certification.
*Procedure for certification of nursing care needs
After the above steps, the level of care is determined according to how much care is needed.
Public health nurses and others at the community comprehensive support center create a care plan for preventing nursing care ➞ Start using services
Select either home care service or facility service ➞ Request a care plan from the care manager at the home care support office for home care service or from the care manager at the facility for facility service ➞ Decide on a care plan ➞ Start using services
Day care (day service), day rehabilitation, home-visit care, home nursing, welfare equipment rental, home repair, short-term residential care (short stay), etc.
Small-scale multifunctional in-home care, day care for dementia, communal living care for dementia (group home), etc.
Special nursing homes, geriatric healthcare facilities, etc.
When using the services, the user pays 10%, 20% or 30% of the service cost (determined by the pension income and total income of the previous year). Those who are certified as requiring nursing care or support will be issued a "Long-Term Care Insurance Co-payment Ratio Certificate" in July of each year, which states the amount to be borne.
If the total amount of the nursing care insurance contribution exceeds the maximum amount, the excess amount will be reimbursed by application of the "High-cost Nursing Care Service Expense".
Every three years, the city formulates a long-term care insurance business plan and determines a base amount for premiums based on projected costs for long-term care insurance services. Based on that standard amount, premiums are determined for each income level.
1. Annual pension of 180,000 yen or more: Deduction from the pension
2. Pension of less than 180,000 yen per year: Payment by letter or direct debit
The long-term care insurance premiums for those aged 40-64 are determined according to the calculation method of their health insurance, and are paid together with the health insurance premiums.
1. 1 year or more in arrears: The user pays the full amount of the cost once, and the insurance benefit will be paid later upon application.
2. 1 year and 6 months in arrears: Insurance benefits are temporarily suspended in whole or in part, and the suspended amount is applied to insurance premiums.
3. 2 years or more in arrears: The user's contribution will be raised to 30%, and the patient will not be able to receive high-cost nursing care service expenses, etc.
This program is intended for those who have been certified as "requiring support" in the long-term care certification and for those whose daily life functions have deteriorated based on the basic checklist conducted by the city.
